webglimpse and glimpseindex options

Hi,

I have some indexes built with glimpseindex
using particular option settings
and I would like to have a webglimpse interface to them
I can imagine several ways to do this.

* configure webglimpse to point at the existing index
  and maybe do some magic to make the index weblgimpse friendly
* rebuild the indexes and pass my options to glimpseindex
  through webglimpse somehow (this does not appear to be supported)
* build the index in the webglimpse archive directory
  using glimpseindex with additional options to make it weblimpse friendly
* hack the webglimpse scripts to call
  glimpseindex with my options.

What are the little bits magic required to make each/any of the above
work? Which is recommended?
