no results returned

I've got two mailing list archives indexed, but cant get *anything* to
return search results - even using the sample search HTML pages in
the archives, as well as the "advanced search".

Available archives:
1       : SunHELP List  : Last built 10/06/2002 at 22:57:19 17702 files indexed
2       : Geeks List    : Last built 10/06/2002 at 23:16:31 32853 files indexed
3       : Rescue List   : Ready to build index

This is Solaris 9, Perl 5.8.0.  Archives are done in directory mode, with
/disk/mailman/archives/private/<list>/ mapping to
http://www.sunhelp.org/pipermail/<list>/.

I even ran webglimpse.cgi directly, but dont get any results..

Suggestions?  No errors in the apache logs, no core files, etc.. Just no
results at all when I do searches for terms that have probably THOUSANDS
of results in the archives...

I'm running latest glimpse and wg2.5.4 (commercial).
