Not good!  Can you try using glimpse 4.13.2b, compiled on your system from 
sources?  If that version also gives you a core dump, I will try to work with 
you to debug it.  (you can get the source from

Yes, if you use the -U and -X switches on glimpseindex, the index will be 
readable by webglimpse.  Webglimpse actually calls glimpse, again with a 
particular set of switches, in order to search the index.  You can see the 
exact system call from a comment on top of the search results page 
(View..Source on the results page)
