Running to different searches on the same DIR

I am trying to run WG so that I can either perform a search on HTML files or
one on PDFs (since both take too long).
I looked at the "Setting up Directory-Based Searching" doc at
http://webglimpse.net/docs/howto_directorysearch.html, 
but I am not sure how this would work in this case.
Since both PDFs and HTMLs reside in the same directory and subdirectories, I
dont think simply providing pathinfo will do.
Is there a way to call an archive by its name (specified when running
confarc)?
If there is I could have one FORM call the cgi-bin to run WG with one
archive (HTML) while the other FORM for the second search would call the PDF
archive.
Any ideas?
