Re: To -F or not to -F? That is the question.



Indexing the files separately would certainly be more efficient - the -F
option only narrows down the result set, it doesn't speed up the search
time.  But if you need ability to specify various, possibly overlapping,
subsets by regexp, then -F is the way to go.
