To -F or not to -F? That is the question.
Hello all. I've got a situation where I need to selectively search a
subset of a set of files. I've come up with two solutions and I thought
I'd see if anyone has any advice for me on choosing between them. My
cheif concern is performance, but manageability runs a close
second! Here's my ideas:
1) Use the -F option to limit searches based on filename. This will work
since the files I need to select are marked in their names. I would then
be able to run one glimpseserver that could handle all requests.
2) Index each set of distinct files separately and run a separate
glimpseserver for each group. This will also work, as long as I have a
different -H dir for each group.
So, what do the experts say? Do you need more information about my task?
