Hello,
After successfully setting up WebGlimpse for an
English site, we're having success utilizing the script for Spanish, French and
Finnish versions. Unfortunately, we're also tackling a Russian version of the
site, but WebGlimpse isn't recognizing the Cyrillic font.
Browsers such as Netscape version 4.0 and higher
support Cyrillic fonts, such as Times New Roman Cyr. However, the html document
must have a meta tag stating:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type"
content="text/html; charset=windows-1251">
So far, all our documents are displaying the
Cyrillic font in the browser properly. However, WebGlimpse doesn't seem to
recognize the character set.
If anyone would like to give it a
try, go to: http://mercy.urantia.org/kniga/
Copy any Russian word, then go to: http://mercy.urantia.org/kniga/wgindex.html
and past the word into the search field. The responding page shows the gibberish
that is commonly seen when a Russian word is displayed in an html document
without the proper charset meta tag.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
Still, thank you for a really great script!!
