I had planned to send them last night, but I ran into some
incompatibilities with different lex versions. I am almost done resolving
them, but I will probably end up providing two different files. One will be
for flex, and the other one will be for AT&T lex. If possible at all, the
ruleset should be compiled with flex (which is much faster and more robust
than AT&T lex), but this might not be feasible for everyone.

I also have a patch for the makecron file. It seems to me that the call to
glimpseindex in makecron should provide the -z switch to enable the filters
during the indexing phase, as well. In my experiments, adding the -z switch
yielded another speedup of a factor of 2 for some searches.
