Licensing for Personal Use

     For personal use, glimpse is now released as a kind of 'charityware' as inspired by vim.

We ask that you make a contribution of your choice in exchange for your use of glimpse. The former single-personal-user license fee was $25. At this time we ask that you consider sending that amount to Nina and Lev Klark in Tula, Russia. Pavel Klark, their son, was one of the original programmers when Webglimpse was first developed at the University of Arizona. He died shortly afterwards in a tragic accident. That was about six years ago; Nina and Lev are now having some health problems. They get a small percentage of royalties from regular sales but it really does not add up to very much. So, if you are using glimpse personally and would like to license it, please send them a check, any amount is acceptable. Their address is

Checks can be made out simply to 'Nina Klark' and the word 'donation' can be written in the comments area, this helps them avoid excessive taxes. Postage for a regular size letter to Russia is 80 cents as of 11/06/03; just write AIRMAIL on the outside of the envelope. I would appreciate knowing if you do send them a check, you can let me know I will send you an official glimpse license for personal use in return.

I don't think the amounts contributed this way will make a very large income, but if we do get a big response I will post a note here to let people know, and maybe put some other places to contribute to.
