This module integrates Drupal with the Apache Solr search platform. Solr search can be used as a replacement for core content search and boasts both extra features and better performance. Among the extra features is the ability to have faceted search on facets ranging from content author to taxonomy to arbitrary CCK fields.
This module depends on the search framework in core. However, you may not want the core searches and only want Solr search. If that is the case, you want to use the Core Searches module in tandem with this module.
Biblio Facets integrates with Faceted Search to allow users to browse Biblio types and fields as facets.
CCK Facets is a bundle of modules that integrate with Faceted Search to expose Content Construction Kit (CCK) fields as facets. This allows users to browse field values and to filter search results with those values.
Support _search_preprocess interface. This module split chinese word with space. So it make search module to add correct chinese word into index table. You need re-index your site after active this module.
Using with 4.7 or 5.x, you should disable "simple Chinese/Japanese/Korean tokenizer" in search.module setting.

Provides browser search integration via the OpenSearch plugin protocal. It adds a search addon for Firefox and IE7 to Drupal sites, much like those found at MyCroft or the IE7 Search Providers.
Allows searching by organic group in the faceted search interface provided by the Faceted Search module.
The module is a framework which supports various search APIs (plugins) to scour the net looking for possible plagiarized content. The framework provides support for 2 different types of APIs - Standard APIs (Google and Yahoo plugins are included here) and Custom APIs (such as the 3rd party paid authentication service from iThenitcate (www.ithenticate.com)).
use API's search engine (Google or Yahoo for example) to search for any URL's which match each chunk
Custom API's like iThenticate's (to be added soon) do their own search offsite from the user's Drupal site and return a report in any fashion they prefer (embedded in an iFrame within the Drupal site).
This module implements the Porter-Stemmer algorithm to improve English-language searching with the Drupal built-in search.module.
User Profile searching capabilities for Drupal. This module provides a simple block with search and a page for showing the results.

Live Search aims to provide Drupal's search module a live search functionality through Ajax and to degrade gracefully to a normal search box when the user has JavaScript turned off. It has the following features:
Choice between theme-provided or module-provided search box. Live Search builds upon an existing search box. Most themes provide their own search box, and the search module itself also provides a search block. You can choose which search box to enable live search functionality on.
Compact search box. This enables the search box to behave in a more Apple style, such as the lack of the "Search" button, with the "Search" phrase embedded in the text field itself.
Ajax request firing delay. To save bandwith and ease server loads, an Ajax search request is fired, by default, after the user stops typing the keyword for 1250 milliseconds.
Live Search fully utilizes Drupal 5's built-in jQuery JavaScript library.
Search your navigation! That's right, search your navigation with a simple, ajax-sexy tool. Great if you know what you want but don't want to dig around.
Search your nodes! That's right, find the node you want by typing a few letters and pressing enter. Searches are live, so you don't have to wait for the search cron to run. You can also specify types to search in.
The TLC module produces a count of the incoming links from blogs indexed by Technorati and links to a search results page where users can see the individual posts linking to a node.

The Search and Replace Scanner can do regular expression matches against the body and CCK text content fields on all nodes in your system. This is handy for finding html strings that Drupal's normal search will ignore. And it can replace the matched text. Search Engine Referers is a simple module to view the search queries of visitors that found your site with a search engine.
This module parses the referer URLs of popular search engines in you access log and extracts the search queries. Currently supported: Google, Yahoo! and Live search.
This module is similar to the Search keywords module, but much simpler/lighter (less code, less functions, no install/use of extra database table, no hook_exit() usage, no administration needed, ...). On the other hand, the the Search Engine Referers module depends on the core statistics mode, while the Search keywords module has no dependencies.

Google Custom Search Engine
Google Co-op Custom Search Engine (CSE) is an embedded search engine that can be used to search any set of one or more sites. No Google API key is required. More info at http://www.google.com/coop/cse
After installing this module, configure it by entering Google's alphanumeric ID for your CSE. Once you have granted permission for one or more roles to search the Google CSE, the search page can be found at search/google, and a search block can also be enabled.

Google Search is a very small module that provides a search block that uses Google's Site Search functionality to search the current site. It is an alternative to Drupal's built-in search functionality. Pairing this module with Google SiteMap is probably a good idea.

Live.com Search
Provides a search tab which pulls results from Microsoft's Live Search web service. The search query can be limited to a set of sites, and various advanced search query strings can be used (or appended to all search queries).
This module has many potential improvements, e.g. javascript UI, additional search options (e.g. location-based search), flood control, caching, etc. Patches are welcome.
Multisearch is a module that present different search-options (engines) in a block or in the searchpage.
At the moment the module has static engines included. For the future is planed a dynamic search-engine-selection (global and for profiles), some ajax-functions for previewing the searchresults from external searchengines in the searchpage (multi-search).

Nutch is a web crawler/indexer/search engine that is based on Lucene. It is a Java tool. This module allows you to have basic control over the Nutch crawl lifecycle through the Drupal web interface. This is a work in progress and participation from Nutch and Drupal developers is wanted.

Interactively rebuild the search index.
The search index normally is indexed using cron. This is the best way to build the search index because it provides the best use of system resources. However, if you need to rebuild the index, this module can interactively rebuild the index quicker than cron by using the 6.x batch API. You should only do this on development servers, during off-hours, or in an emergency.

This module allows you to search multiple OpenSearch feeds at the same time. The results are aggregated and cached locally, and results are fetched incrementally as you page further down the results.
It works best if the search sources are all run on the same software. The OpenSearch module for Drupal can provide the appropriate feeds, and will also pass along relevance information. OpenSearch Aggregator will sort the results by descending relevance globally.
RSS parsing is handled by the Magpie RSS library. This enables search requests to remote sites to be cached in order to politely limit the amount of overhead and traffic caused.
This module adds OpenSearch feed creation capability to core search.module. Searches are exported as RSS 2.0 feeds at /opensearch/type/keywords and can be autodiscovered through OpenSearch Description XML. Works with all hook_search() searches (content, users, ...).

DynoSearcho lets users dynamically search for different types of content using AJAX (actually, AHAH).
This module allows the site admin to display various blocks on the site that provide a dynamic way to search for content. DynoSearch uses AHAH to display results as the user enters them (similar to Drupal's most-excellent autocomplete feature). Each block can be configured to display a configurable number of results from specific node types.
DynoSearcho is not meant to be a replacement for Drupal default search.
DynoSearcho does not use any of the existing Drupal search mechanism for it's searches, in fact, it is a much "dumbed down" version of search. The module only searches node titles and tags for matches. In fact, the module makes use of the SQL "LIKE" keyword, which probably means that this module probably won't do too well for sites when searching through thousands and thousands of nodes.
The module does have the option to submit the search terms to the standard Drupal search mechanism when the user presses the "enter" key. This option is controlled by the block configuration settings.
This module handles integration with Solr - an XML-based front-end to the Lucene search engine - and is a replacement for the core search.module.
Call solr.module functions from any module that handles a custom node type (example hook functions are provided in readme.txt). Use hook_update_index_solr to periodically post new or updated nodes to the index, and hook_solr to search the index and return an array of search results. You'll need a Solr instance running for each of your node types (in Tomcat, for example).

Page reload(or preview) on every related item "add"(or "delete") it's not necessary because the module uses javascript to dynamically add(or remove) the fields and autocomplete to search for nodes to be related (AJAX).

The taxonomy query language module, tql, implements a plugin for the search (Drupal core) and views module. It provides a new tab Taxonomy in the Drupal search and a new Views filter.
If you have the tql module and the search module enabled, a Taxonomy tab appears in the search where you can enter a search query. (demo)
